Mandarin Essential Oil

Mandarin is an essential oil that is considered to be very gentle. It is calming and soothing and with its delightful warm, citrus smell it can be used for children and adults alike.

Mandarin essential oil added to Olive Oil in a 1% or less dilution has been found to be helpful in preventing stretch marks in pregnancy. (1 drop essential oil in 1 - 2 teaspoons of carrier oil).

It can be lightly diffused or misted in an infant or child's room just before putting them to bed. It creates a calm and restful environment. I would not suggest having any oil diffusing non-stop anywhere. One's body does need a rest inbetween so in this case if you are diffusing I would suggest no more than 10 minutes and the remove the diffuser from the room. Misting the room with a spray of 1 - 2% mandarin in distilled water might be an easier way to go. Add 12 - 20 drops of Mandarin essential oil to 2 ounces (60ml) of distilled water in a spray bottle.

On my website you will find a more extensive profile of Mandarin.

September Stress

I can't believe so much time has passed since I last posted a blog. I have just let the lazy days of summer wash over me and I've really enjoyed doing things at a much more lesiurly pace . Now thatthe Labor day weekend is over, everyone seems to be really busy getting back into a more normal routine. It's always the first week or so after a break that takes a little more stress of getting back to normal so think about finding some time for yourselves to relax and destress. I have a article on Aromatherapy and Stress on my website, as well as some Stress Buster Blends. There are many great essential oils to think about in times of stress and I'll post more information on them over the next little while.

Diffuser blend for today to help get me focused and back on track ;-)
Basil 2 drops, Lime 5 drops and Rosemary 1 drop.
